Free Family Concert on the Beach! A Trip to the Carribean Islands!: Reggae and Calypso Music, Wednesday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Visit the East Haven Town Beach on 148 Cosey Beach Avenue on Wednesday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. for a special free concert performed by talented and eclectic musician, Chris Merwin. Chris will perform using vocals, electric guitar and steel drum with backing tracks of bass and drums. He will perform classic Harry Belefonte calypsos as well Bob Marley and other reggae music. 

Chris has spent the last twenty-one years studying various instruments such as the guitar, Arabic oud, Hawaiian steel guitar, and the Japanese shakuhachi flute. His travels have taken him to Tibet, Japan, China, Egypt, Hawaii, and many other places. He has performed at the United Nations, for local congressmen, and has made numerous appearances on TV and radio.

This concert is free and open to everyone and is sponsored by the East Haven Hagaman Memorial Library. Please bring your own lawn chair or beach blanket to sit on.  In the case of rain, this concert will be held at the Hagaman Library on 227 Main Street. Parking is available in the Town Beach parking lot across the street from the beach after 5:00 p.m.  If you have any questions, please call Cynthia at 203-468-3891.
