PLEASE SEE THE UPDATED NOTICE (BELOW) ON THE WEARING OF FACE MASKS IN THE LIBRARY BUILDING AS OF AUGUST 12, 2021.
The Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main Street, is happy to announce that we have opened further as of Tuesday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. Access to the library building and most library services have been restored.
The Library’s service hours as of June 18, 2021 are below.
-Monday, Friday, and Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm. The library will be open Saturdays through June 26, 2021 and then will be closed Saturdays starting July 3- September 4, 2021. The library will reopen on Saturday starting September 11, 2021
-Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 10 am – 8 pm
Patrons are able to reenter the library building without appointments to browse library shelves, check out books, access public computers, printers and photocopiers, and attend library programming, which will be both within the library building and on the grounds of the library building.
The meetings of outside community groups in the library building resumed as of July 1, 2021. Please contact Cynthia at 203-468-3891 or by email at email@example.com to schedule your organization to use one of the Library’s Meeting rooms.
In order to safely offer in-person services, there are health and safety guidelines. A NOTICE ON THE WEARING OF FACE MASKS IN THE LIBRARY BUILDING: As of August 12, 2021: Per Governor Lamont’s Executive Order number 12A (please scroll down to page 3 and item number 1), all unvaccinated people are required to wear face masks in the library building. It is also highly recommended by the library at this time, based on the recommendation from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, that all patrons above the age of 2, even if fully vaccinated, resume the practice of wearing a face mask at all times over the nose, mouth, and chin while in the library building, due to the increased risk of COVID-19 infections, from the emerging Delta variant. We thank-you for your understanding as we adapt and continue to serve our community as the situation develops with the current health crisis.
Outside: Face masks are not required outdoors on the library grounds.
The required and recommended wearing of face masks is on the honor system, and we please ask for your compliance. Thank-you, Hagaman Memorial Library, August 12, 2021.
Patrons may bring their own beverages into the library building when attending an on-site library program, or an outside organization meeting. We simply ask that patrons please not leave a mess and take water bottles and other beverage bottles with them when leaving the library.
Reopening guidelines will be reviewed at each meeting of the Library’s Board of Trustees and revised as needed.
As of July 1, 2021, the Library is accepting donations of books!
Contactless library services will remain in effect for those people who prefer this: curbside pickup of materials, library card sign-up online via the Library’s website: https://www.hagamanlibrary.org/online-library-card-registration/, virtual library programming, reference services via phone or e-mail, and the outside public Wi-Fi network.
Contactless online materials are available on the Library’s Website 24/7, www.hagamanlibrary.org. With their library cards patrons have free access to eBooks, emagazines, audiobooks, music, streaming video, online research, and much more.
Please call the library at 203-468-3890 for further information about the library’s current reopening guidelines.
