Hagaman Memorial Library’s Book Banter: A New Virtual Book Club and Discussion Group for Twenty and Thirty-Somethings! Our Inaugural Pick for July: “Lakewood” by Megan Giddings-Thursday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. on Google Meet!

Book Banter is a new virtual book club and discussion group for twenty and thirty-somethings! Join us for a discussion of Lakewood by Megan Giddings on Thursday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. via Google Meet!

Following the passing of her beloved grandmother, art history major Lena is blindsided by the amount of bills and debts she inherited-not to mention becoming the sole caregiver of her disabled mother.

When Lena, shortly thereafter, receives a mysterious letter inviting her to participate in the Lakewood project, a government research study that pays handsomely, provides excellent healthcare benefits, and requires Lena to move away from and conceal the truth from everyone she loves, does Lena really have any choice-and what are the consequences of the choices she will have to make to survive?

Lakewood is available for free with your Hagaman Memorial Library card on Hoopla Digital and in the Google Play and App Store. The discussion will take place on Thursday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. via Google Meet!
