Tails and Tales! Summer Reading Program for Kids – June 24 kick off event
Summer Reading Program for Kids of All Ages
It will be a very special summer, with an exciting combination of “in person” outdoor programs, as well as virtual programs. And we’ll continue our Hagaman summer tradition of offering incentives for reading, writing, and attending events online and in person. Our theme this summer is Tails and Tales!
Register in person to pick up your Welcome Bags with free books donated by CT Humanities,
or by phone at 203-468-3890,
Online and phone registrants will have their bags ready for pickup at the children’s desk during your next library visit. Brochures are available or can be downloaded from here:
Our Summer Reading Program runs from Monday, June 21 to Friday, August 6.
Preschoolers may prefer to track days read on our colorful Game Board where you’ll place a sticker for every day you read, earning a raffle ticket and small prize for every 7 days. This is especially geared to children aged 0-4, but older picture book readers may like it, too.
Elementary school students
may wish to track books online at ReadSquared http://hagamanlib.readsquared.com
/, where they’ll be rewarded for reading books, listening to audiobooks, writing reviews, sharing your own stories, accomplishing missions, and attending events. You can also pick up a register to list books “old-style”- on paper! You’ll earn points towards raffle prizes to be announced in August, as well as a small prize up to once weekly.
We’ll continue to update the calendar with new events. If you have any questions or need more information, please call us at 203-468-3890 during the library’s posted hours: 10am to 5pm Monday and Friday, 10am to 8pm Tuesday through Thursday, or email Miss Sascha anytime: firstname.lastname@example.org
