With school out for the Summer and to kick off our Teen Summer Reading program, join us for an afternoon of online games. Open to all teens aged 13 to 18! Program to be held via Google Meet. Summer Shorts: Short Story Discussion – June 23rd, 3:30 PM [Virtual]

All throughout this summer, we’ll be discussing a variety of Short Stories together! These stories will all be easily accessible for free online and just a few pages long!

This Month’s Story: “Rain” By Sangu Mandanna (Available Here under Excerpt or in print as collected in Hungry Hearts)

Program open to teens aged 12 to 18 and will be held via Google Meet. Sign-up at Eventbrite to participate!

Cartooning Workshop with Rick Stromski – July 1st, 4:30 to 5:30 PM [Virtual]

Award winning, nationally syndicated cartoonist, Rick Stromoski, is offering a live, virtual, and interactive cartooning class on Thursday, July 1 at 430pm for all kids ages 8 to 16. Learn to draw expressive, funny animal cartoons!

Email Miss Sascha: sgardiner@hagamanlibrary.org for the Zoom link. All you need is a pile of blank paper and your favorite tools for drawing.

 

Dungeons and Dragons – July 6th, 5:00 to 7:00 PM [Virtual]

Are you seeking adventure? Want to explore a fantasy world? Then stop in and join us for an afternoon of Dungeons and Dragons!  We’re starting a new campaign for our Dungeons and Dragons sessions: Ghosts of Saltmarsh!

Watch & Discuss: Lost Media – July 20th, 3:30 PM [Virtual]

What is Lost Media? How is it found again? Join us via Google Meet to discuss it with other teens!
How it works:

1. Before the event, you’ll get a list of videos related to the topic to watch and where to find them.

2. Watch those videos at your leisure, as many or as few as you’d like.

3. Join us to talk about them!

Teen Gaming Afternoon – July 21st, 1:30 PM [In-Person]

Thursday Afternoon Film: “Raya and the Last Dragon” – July 29th, 2:00 PM [DeMayo Room]

Join us on Thursday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. for a showing of the film Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) starring Kelly Marie Tran & Awkwafina.
Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. However, when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned, and it’s up to a lone warrior to track down the last dragon and stop the Druun for good.

Food and drinks (with the exception of water-you may bring in your own water) are not allowed inside the Library at this time. Please note: The Library Director and the Library Board of Trustees continue to analyze these policies and update them as needed.

Teen Crafting Afternoon – August 18th, 1:30 to 3:00 PM

Try your hand at a new craft! Teens ages 13 to 18 can drop in to learn about and try crafts such embroidery, crochet, and macramé or create a work of art with the supplies we have on hand!
